More than 5,200 tips were received in FY 2019, the second-largest number of tips within one fiscal year, and the program made its third-largest award to date ($37 million).

The most common types of allegations involved corporate disclosure and financials (21%), offering fraud (13%), and manipulation (10%). Almost 6% of the tips related to cryptocurrencies.

The SEC awarded approximately $60 million to eight individuals for information received, including wrongdoing against retail investors and misconduct occurring abroad. The SEC received tips from individuals in all 50 states as well as from 70 countries outside the United States.
