1. APPLE iPAD 9.7

The latest iPad incorporates a number of performance enhancements, it supports the Apple digital Pencil, and it sells at a base price of $329. Schools can purchase the basic model for $299, so this version of Apple’s flagship is aimed at an expanded consumer base. It’s smaller in size than the 10.5" iPad Pro, but it’s designed to be both productive and flexible as a media portal. The scaled-down 10.5" Pro and this latest iPad weigh the same, 1.03 lbs., and an LED-backlit Retina display with a sharp 2,048 × 1,536 pushes the same pixel count as the Pro. The 9.7 processor is the A10 Fusion fourth-generation chip with 64-bit desktop-class architecture, embedded M10 coprocessor, and 32GB or 128GB memory capacity. The camera is an 8-megapixel with autofocus, panorama, burst mode, and a five-element f/2.4 lens. Photos are HDR, and the camera features body and face detection, photo geotagging, and auto stabilization. Video is 1,080p HD that offers slo-mo at 120fps, time-lapse video with stabilization, 3X video zoom, and body and face detection. The FaceTime camera is a 1.2-megapixel. www.apple.com
