The inspiration for Campus Influencers came from Jimmie Smith, former chair and current member of the IMA Member Relations Committee and an experienced volunteer leader. In the last year, Jimmie has made 19 school visits, setting the standard for exceptional leadership and networking.
Jimmie and Lisa Beaudoin, IMA’s director of educational partnerships, have continually refined the program to provide Campus Influencers with a “turnkey” approach, which includes a detailed, scripted presentation; supporting documents; and marketing materials. IMA also provides a step-by-step process for reaching out to colleges and universities and maintaining the relationship over time.
Though there are now nearly 120 people on the team, several key Campus Influencers have made an especially strong impact with their commitment:
- David Teets, Jr., 8 school visits
- Carol Magner-Mitchell, 5 school visits
- Antoinette Spina, 4 school visits
- James L. Smith, 4 school visits
- Thomas Francl, 4 school visits
- Gerald Ratigan, 4 school visits
- Bernice Jenkins, 3 school visits
- Candace Levine, 3 school visits
These team members have gone above and beyond to spread the word about all that IMA has to offer: the benefits of membership, the CMA certification, information about accounting career paths, and more.
